There were six rough categories that all of the articles fell into. The 38 articles were subdivided into those categories for deeper analysis. There were 18 articles dealing with how dietary BPS exposure affects the reproductive system and/or the development of offspring in animal models. There were nine articles investigating dietary BPS and metabolic disorders, five looked into effects on the nervous system after dietary BPS exposure, four dealt with breast cancer, and there was one article each in the categories of dietary BPS and the immune system or damage to DNA. If overlap occurred between any subcategories, the main focus of the article was determined, and the article was placed into that subcategory.
